Genome Alberta
Since 2005, Genome Alberta has been a convenor and a catalyst, bridging knowledge and the academic sector to government and industry partners in order to realize the potential of Alberta-made genomics solutions for all.
Project:
20th Anniversary event material
Details:
To celebrate their 20th Anniversary, Genome Alberta hosted a breakfast event for their stakeholders. The event creative follows the colour palette of the Genome Alberta brand with an added typeface for the title/headline treatment. Inspired by the futuristic look of an already-produced video for consistency at the events. The background is made up of multi-layered genomic graphics (sequencing bars and letters) in varying transparencies atop of a grid. We added 4-corner squares and 3-line dot patterns that are in the forefront. We used the Genome Alberta magenta as the predominant highlight colour, and their teal as the secondary colour. The typeface for the headline treatment is Kallisto - a modern tech style Adobe font - which is available in multiple different weights and styles. This helped with creating the headline “GENERATING IMPACT” to subtly highlight the word GENE with the horizontal bar style (which is also a nod to sequencing bars) without visually separating it from RATING and reading as two words.
Deliverables:
Program, directional signage, large-scale display, email signature, name tags.Additional designed projects:
Annual reports, sector reports, various templates.

Annual Report 2023-24
Details:
With this year’s annual report theme was “Going Forward Together”, we wanted to depict movement along with collaboration in the design. We dissected the Genome Alberta established brand graphics and explored using them in a different way... which resulted in creating a ‘wave’ graphic which we then incorporated as the motion element for the overall design. Overlays of colour and line work alluded to collaboration within the sectors.Deliverables:
Digital and print reportAdditional designed projects:
Overview brochure, strategic and business plans, pull-up displays.Project:
Life Sciences Week Stickers
Details:
Genome Alberta was going to have a booth set up at the University of Alberta’s Life Sciences Week Fair, and came to us to design stickers that they could give away to students that visited the booth. They were looking for a design that was appealing to a mid-20s audience, represented the genomics industry and the Genome Alberta brand, and would look cool enough to stick on the side of a water bottle. We designed and delivered three concepts and our client loved them all; they decided to print all 3!
1. Genomic sequencing lettering with headline highlighted within “KEEP CALM AND SEQUENCE ON.”
2. and 3. Genomic/DNA sequencing patterns.
Stickers were printed on a holographic sticker paper.
